We successfully overcome the frequent challenge of low quality source materials for RNA analyses by using the Illumina TruSeq RNA Access Library Prep Kit. It is ideal for formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples as well as degraded total RNA and samples with limited starting material. While traditional poly-A based methods for capturing the coding transcriptome are ineffective for FFPE RNA-seq analysis, TruSeq RNA Access Library Prep Kits overcome this limitation by applying sequence-specific capture that does not rely on the presence of polyadenylated transcripts.
