Gene Panel Sequencing
c.ATG has longstanding expertise on a wide range of commercial and investigative gene panels for diagnostic and research purposes. Gene panels are a great way to answer specific questions about diseases in a focused, cost-effective manner. Compared to whole genome or whole exome analyses, they allow for greater sequencing depth of a smaller set of genomic regions, usually exons, but custom designs for non-exonic regions can be included.
Our gene panels are developed in-house by highly experienced human geneticists and in close collaboration with companies and scientific consortia. Frequent updates guarantee that current insight is represented accurately.
Inherited diseases detected by our gene panels are:
- Spastic diseases
- Metabolic diseases
- Hereditary breast and ovarian cancer (HBOC)
In addition, we use TruSight One panels from Illumina as a comprehensive panel comprising the most important genes for inherited diseases in general. This panel can be applied to any inherited disease, especially when more focused approaches have failed and whole exome or whole genome sequencing is not desirable.

We also offer a comprehensive somatic cancer panel covering the most important oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes. This panel comprises more than 300 genes and is applicable across cancers from various tissue types. It was designed by in-house experts and is produced by Agilent.

In addition, we use panels for somatic breast cancer. Check our section on Cancer Research and Diagnosis.
